- Tip: Gate traffic is non-existent — the 15-20 min drive on US-2 from Grand Forks is flat, straight, and fast (65-70 mph); winter weather (snow, ice, whiteouts) is the main commute challenge
- Note: The base is remote from Grand Forks proper — there's nothing at the gate; plan errands for before or after the drive into town
